Thank you to everyone who came to the Leadership Development gathering last night. I have gotten some good feedback and hope that the material that we covered is applicable to your groups. If you weren’t able to be there and want to get some insight this blog post has a quick description of the concepts that we talked about last night.
Basically, I went over where we have been and then focused on where we are going by providing a framework and some suggestions that should help us move in the directions we want to go.
As a community we must stay rooted in scripture and God’ grace and power as we are participating in His Kingdom work on earth. I’m so thankful to be part of a community that is pursuing this.
In order for our home groups to effectively move towards 1) becoming communities of learners, lovers, and givers; 2) becoming communities discovering and living out our gifting; and 3) becoming communities in movement, we need to have healthy team dynamics and group function.
This occurs at the servant team and home group levels. We went over the 5 Dysfunction’s of a Team as outlined by Patrick Lencioni.
- Absence of Trust
- Fear of Conflict
- Lack of Commitment
- Avoidance of Accountability
- Inattention to Results
